The citation record at a glance

The Selank references list is twenty-one peer-reviewed citations long and skews heavily Russian. Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine carries seven of them. Eksperimental'naia i Klinicheskaia Farmakologiia carries five. Zhurnal Nevrologii i Psikhiatrii Imeni S.S. Korsakova carries two — including the principal controlled human trial, Zozulia et al. (2008), and the parallel immunomodulatory paper, Uchakina et al. (2008). The non-Russian English-language record consists of Frontiers in Pharmacology, Behavioural Neurology, Doklady Biological Sciences, Neuroscience and Behavioral Physiology, and Voprosy Virusologii.

That distribution is itself the headline. Selank's evidence base is real, indexed, and reproducible across multiple authors at multiple Russian institutes — and it is not a literature with substantial independent non-Russian replication. We surface that geography rather than smooth it over.
