About Reviews Selank: Editorial Method and Scope

Independent. Editorial. Cited. Not a clinic. Not a vendor. The masthead reads what the literature says about Selank.

§ 01

What this site is

Reviews Selank is an independent editorial project that publishes summaries of the peer-reviewed research literature on Selank. We are not a clinic. We do not employ clinicians and we do not provide medical advice. We do not manufacture, sell, or distribute any product. Our work is editorial commentary on publicly available science.

The domain modifier 'reviews' is editorial framing — a position the publisher occupies relative to the literature, not a claim about the site's services. We review the published record. We do not review Selank vendors, we do not rate vendor reputations, and we do not direct readers to purchase any compound. The site exists to make the indexed Selank literature legible in plain English for general readers and to mark the boundaries of what is and is not known.

WHAT THE LITERATURE LOOKS LIKE

What the literature looks like

Selank's published record is unusual in shape. One moderately sized controlled human trial (Zozulia 2008, n=62) anchors the clinical claim of anxiolysis comparable to medazepam [1]. Around it sits a substantial preclinical mechanistic record: enkephalinase inhibition with IC50 around 20 microM [2], strain-dependent rodent anxiolytic responses [3], hippocampal BDNF up-regulation [4], GABAA receptor modulation [6][7], serotonergic and noradrenergic effects [8][9], immunomodulatory cytokine shifts [10], and withdrawal-syndrome attenuation in opioid and alcohol models [12][13].

The literature is dominated by Russian-language journals: Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, Eksperimental'naia i Klinicheskaia Farmakologiia, Zhurnal Nevrologii i Psikhiatrii. Independent non-Russian replication is sparse. The English-PubMed-indexed venues that have published Selank work — Frontiers in Pharmacology, Behavioural Neurology, Doklady Biological Sciences — represent a small fraction of the total record.

We surface that geography. We do not pretend the literature is broader than it is, and we do not pretend the absence of long-term Western safety data is a settled question. Both are true and both are visible throughout the site.

§ 03

Editorial method

Every quantitative claim on this site maps to a numbered citation in the references index. Doses, percentages, durations, n-values, half-lives, effect sizes — each one ties back to a PubMed-indexed source, a DOI-anchored Springer / Frontiers / Wiley publication, or a registered clinical-trial protocol. Vendor blogs, forum posts, and non-peer-reviewed PDFs were excluded from the source pool during editorial work.

We describe what was administered to which species at which dose by which route. We do not write 'take X mg/day.' Selank is not approved for human use outside the Russian Federation; even if it were, this site would not be the place to receive a prescription.

The voice is editorial, not clinical. The format is a field review of a small but real literature, set in billboard type.
